We receive the Scouting magazine even though the most recently anointed (so to speak) Eagle Scout in the (extended) family is at a university and soon to graduate. BigEd and S-the-Guru are other Eagles. J is the most interested party here. Being an Eagle himself and a volunteer for most of his adult life, this is understandable.
In this Scouting issue, there is notice of a commemorative coin for BSA which will, incidentally, raise money for the organization. He asked me to pull up the web site which was cited in the magazine article. I have to admit, the silver dollar is beautiful.
It will not be available until the 23rd of this month, at noon sharp. I know what I will be doing then, with him looking over my shoulder and wishing I could type even faster.
Ordering . . .

If you buy a hundred of them you only pay three thousand nine hundred and ninety five dollars. Surcharges, remember, go the the BSA. So it's for a good cause. Then there are your descendants, they would probably like to have fifty a piece when you all pass on to Glory. I'm just throwing this out there, no need to act upon it. I'm just saying...
Wow, BigEd is a big spender. Do you know how many pairs of shoes you can buy for $3995? My closet would be full. To the top full. :0
Wow - do you know how unlikely it is anybody will get 3995.00 worth of either BSA coin OR shoesies? LOL, I love the hopeful posts, though!
It would take a lottery win for me to gift someone with the money for all those coins and shoes.
That would work for me!
The coins will go up in value just like any other collector's coins that are meant to be collected for value.
