Slipping the bonds . . .

This morning, I was out back when I heard a jet moving toward the house full bore. He was right overhead when he started to climb almost straight up. A white puff bloomed briefly behind the plane which I imagine was the afterburner kicking in. Looked like he was reaching for orbit. It was so beautifully free that I got goose bumps.

Back on earth, I finally finished rinsing out the garbage can. Heh.

Oooh, you're near the NAS, too! Every now and again, we'll get a treetop skimmer going north/south with all engines at full throttle. Scare's the bejabbers out of you. Last time it happened, I was on the couch and thought it was a crash on the road. As the noise got louder, I could only think a truck was coming through the wall. Then the sound was overhead and headed north of the house. What a relief to realize that no truck was about to join me in front of the television!

You would think that everyone beyond their teens would know about afterburners. I have met some people beyond their teens who were surprised to hear that I said it is afterburners. Believe it or not, this person next went into disbelief.
