Is there no end . . .

The calendar says that summer is gone. Google's logo announces, cleverly, that this is the first day of fall. Our car said it was 94 degrees at noon. The thermometer announces 95 degrees on the shaded front porch a couple of hours later. Rain is a non-starter. The Dusty Miller is wilting but it often does, thirsty thing.

I am beginning to believe that global warming had its start here, in our yard, while we weren't looking . . .

Fall seems to have the same calendar as the School Districts. Always with a surprise date or day. My corduroy pants, and jackets have a long wait until I can wear them.

I wondered if there wasn't an Equinox in the vicinity - the sun rose in the east and lined up exactly with my eyeballs, on the morning drive to work.

Yes, there was on 9-22. I googled it. The first day of fall is also the fall equinox. I have a vague feeling that I should have known that, but I didn't.
