Ah - Merry - choo

Merry Christmas! God Bless Us, Every One!
. . . to quote a very tiny person.

For J and I this is our most quiet Christmas in many mango seasons. We are not sharing our recent acquisition with anyone if we can help it. All should be truly thankful.

So far, we have much to be thankful for, too. Remember: during the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew when people were saying things like, "We lost everything but we're still alive."

We can say we haven't lost everything and we are still alive, too!

Ohhh - I also recall post-Andrew folks saying stuff like, "If you come in my house, I'm gon' shoot first and ask questions after." Hope this crud's not got you guys feeling that badly.

Poor you both...probably can't even taste food, if someone brings a sample of the holiday meal to the door. Wait until the Z-packs kick in! Keeping y'all in prayers, even with antibiotics.

Thank you for the prayers. Yesterday, I put a turkey breast in the slow cooker and wrapped it in foil when it was done and cooled. It is still in the refrigerator, untouched, tonight. Neither of us wants to slice it or make gravy for it. Couldn't taste it very well, anyway. Today I went to WD, on Christmas day mind you, to buy Puffs with Lotion. Our priorities are very different at the moment.

BigEd was at Zeta's barbecue so someone's day was better, at least.

I could have invented Puffs with Lotion because I discovered years ago that using Vicks Vap-O-Rub on the nose protected from the rough red sore area that developed after mucho blowing and honking. I wish I'd patented it.

And then there's the wet paper towel in the dryer -versus- the Steam Dryer. Yep, my idea again got swiped by someone else!

Only thing is, you don't know it's a good idea until you see it in commercial use. Oh, well.... next someone will invent liquid turkey and dressing that you can drink like soda-pop. Oh, wait - that's BEEN DONE!

Hope your appetites come back and you get some of that turkey you've stashed away.

On the 26th, we partook: cranberry sauce, turkey, gravy, broccoli, asparagus, baked potato. No stuffing, you notice. The potatoes did yeoman's duty in its place. J and I agreed it might have been better if we could have actually tasted it.
