For Dummies?

While browsing the (my) library's e-books, I found Nook Tablet for Dummies which fits with my mental state on some days.  I realize it is for an older generation tablet but similar enough for my purposes.  I believe I know what I am doing with the tablet I received from my special family group.  But it is always interesting to learn how much one doesn't know.

At present, I am reading Dummies on my iPhone.  Take that, Apple.  I am the disloyal patron you always knew was out there.  I love the new version of Siri, though.  Do I wish I could talk to the tablet and have an interactive conversation?  No.  One IA is enough.  Two cats and Siri-on-one-device. is independence enough.

Snax got out by rushing the front door when BigEd was coming in.  Chasing a cat with long legs and blinding speed is futile.   So, I called him for a treat and he avoided the chase and came in the open front door to get some.  Mew was at the front door, looking out and wondering if she was going to get a treat, too.

Of course she did . . .

I don't have a SIRI to give me help with any of my computing/phoning or messaging. I guess it would be nice to hear a suggestion or two, when I'm searching for directions or want to know how long some store is open. On the other hand, who knows if I would take directions - I was always resistant to Tom's driving directions when I was in the left hand seat. Would SIRI tell me things like, "Don't hit the grocery cart" or "Stay in the lane, don't pass this guy right now." If that's the case, SIRI had better have a squelch button.

LOL, I could just see Snax rushing the door to outside. He just thinks he is smarter than a fifth grader. Food lures most 5th graders back from the playground. I guess you don't want to threaten to feed any larger animals snacks. It could confust the issue.

This morning when I let him out of his room, he tried to dash down the hall. He ran headfirst into the ankle which I had shoved in his way. We are both paying for that one.

What is up with the guy, wanting to rush off all of a sudden! Does he need an outside pen accessible from inside? I saw a photo of a contraption someone had built that started at the upstairs level and the cat could come out an opening and come down about 3 levels bolted to and running the length of the side of the house. It zigged and zagged back and forth. The final level was above the windows on the ground floor. Cat was lying inside the "run" at the bottom level. He or she looked content - that half lidded gaze - but as far from the opening into the home as could be. Makes one feel the escape was successful - even if there is wire and nails every step of the way. This may not work for cats who live in Miami. A good ankle knock may be the only solution. You may need to start putting on boots in the morning.
