Who is Justin Case . . .

We admit to using up most of our emergency food supplies because we thought we were fairly safe this late in the hurricane season. Paloma gave us a reality check.

She brought to mind that major storms do not read the calendar nor do they pay attention to storm trends of previous weather years. The Dove acted like a hawk as it approached Cuba and then had its wings clipped by the mountains and high level winds.

With the Dove being reduced to a tattered low, I guess it is safe to use up the gallons of water stored in our spare room. They are useful to cook with and make coffee.

'Course, we have the rest of November to go 'til the end of hurricane season.

Maybe we should wait, just in case . . .

To ease my mind, hurricane season is so over, and Nov is a short month. All of my ice, frozen jugs are no longer taking up space in my fridge. In the real world, your right. It just feels nice to claim victory to Mother Nature, you missed us. Then, she may think to herself, "Wait Until Next Year!" OK, I'll take it back.

Guess what! I haven’t planned any hurricanes for the rest of the year. So, we are ok. I surmise if we all do the same thing. The year will pass around nicely.

Yeah, but after rains and winds come frost and ice. Brown crinkley grass. Orange and yellow and red leaves. Clear blue overhead you can see all the way into as high as the sky. Wonderful weather for fireplaces and dog sweaters.

Down here the cat doesn't need a sweater. She couldn't walk if we put one on her. Our main air conditioner doesn't have reverse cycle.
