The small umbrella which I could pop open with one hand has taken up residence elsewhere. It used to be comfortable in the glove compartment behind the roll of paper towels. It seemed to be content to play hide and seek with the parking registrations and insurance cards which kept it company.
Today, the weather threatened rain with an immediacy which had me looking into the glove box. No little folding rain protector. We asked the paper towels but they remained mum on the whereabouts.
All day, every time I got in the car, the clouds had lowered and grayed up. It seemed impossible that the car should not get a free rinsing.
Where ever it is, the umbrella is doing its job. The old adage did not apply today. Usually if we have an umbrella along, we won't need it. If we don't have one, we get rained on.
I have to find it and let it know that it is okay for occasional rain to fall on us . . .

The clouds kept rolling above us quickly as it they were late to an appointment. The clouds looked gray with bits of sunshine peeking through now and then. Monday, maybe a different story.
ops as if they were late to an appointment>
You know, I probably have that umbrella. I just don't know where I put it, maybe in my car somewhere. Remind me to check later it is late right now.
My little pop-up brolly with the easy closing feature resides in the bottom of my purse! Friday I came home from work and saw a sign posted on the highway that read "Road Under Water"!! I shuddered and drove more slowly. I crept along until I got to the next hill and realized that the road was no longer under water. It had dried out but the sign was forgotten by the work crews. We'uns have had some rain!
"Road Under Water, You Car May Float." The Ranger and the Advenger both have floated in water on the Tropical Streets. Once at a bridge, once at the bank parking lot. Only lost one engine of the two vechicals had to be replaced.
Actually, BigEd tried car-boating on Miller Drive when the subterranean canal filled up and deceptively flooded the streets. He described the car as floating a little bit, bumping back and forth from wheel to wheel as it did. When he opened the window (he said later) it settled down. That was really an air-tight car.
An inadvertent death for an auto. State Farm paid up, though, so all was not lost . . .
Hence, the Camry which is not being produced by Toyota till they fix this acceleration issue.
Yes, and since I have experience with sudden acceleration from having driven the Chevy Van which did it, I am not worried about the Camry. Famous Last Words . . .
