This just in . . .

Thank you Big Ed and Zeta for our trek to get storm supplies this evening. We even topped up the car's gas tank. It was Zeta's idea to get such a head start and Big Ed was the iron man in lifting and loading all that water. The distant threat is only a tropical storm, at present, but I stood in some major last-minute lines before hurricane Andrew. I swore I would never be so lax again.

Complacency, thy name is Ranger. Not . . .

Iron man to the rescue. Yes, it does feel good to be ready for the ..... Andrew was a wake up call for me too. Especially when I went to the bread isle and it was totally empty. A shopper reached over my cart and dropped two loaves of bread. Then she disappeared quickly. I said thank you, and I'm sure she heard me. The biggest lessoned learned was, do not run barefoot through your house while tree’s are breaking your windows. Bad idea. I was on crutches for a few days since all the cuts were on the bottom of both feet. S. and A. were small lads who became sworn men while M. was working to help other people who were less fortunate. The best memory was when my Dad stopped his locomotive train on the tracks of Kendall Drive and several bags of ice were carried to my home. This was such a welcomed sight. Searching for ice on crutches was difficult not to mention ice was scarce. As the Locomotive Heroes placed the ice in my cooler with food that was starting to get warm, priceless.

Bringing back memories . . . will I wear shoes to bed, just in case? No, but they will be right beside it!

Dad used to be the ice king. Now, it is M and Zeta.
