Hark ...

This morning, I heard a sweet, faint sound coming from some distance away. It was the gentle sound of a jackhammer. This is not the common name for a migratory bird, nor is it in the woodpecker family.

The jackhammer is single footed and double eared. It sinks its foot into our consciousness and our concrete curbing. The by product of this activity is not a new nest in the neighborhood, but a new pest.

The dreaded roadwork. Soon, it will be targeting a corner near us ...

LOL, single footed, double eared. Kind of like a T with an attitude?

Thanks for stopping by A-Town today. We live in Texas, so the ocean, the laid back attitude, the beautiful Key Biscayne...all of it is a treat for us! (Leaving the kids for a few days doesn't hurt either!) We stayed in Coconut Grove this last trip and loved the area!

Stop by anytime!

I don't hear those sounds out where we live anymore. Any banging sounds come from real life woodpeckers! We saw one Tuesday as a matter of fact.

We live in the city zoom, zoom, where everything is fast and on the run except for county workers. Working for the county is better than a union and they never have time tables less than a year.

Maybe the road warriors will catch a hint if you purchased an orange sign with a figure of a construction road worker with and X in the center.
