Reverse, U-verse, Reverse . . .

Ah, the Olympics. I am recording the equestrian events for my sole enjoyment and have been lucky to find out on what channel and when they are presented. The events have been moved from one obscure (to me, anyway) channel to another and so far, I have been able to catch the announcement and set the DVR. The Cross Country event was held yesterday and today is the jumping, which is the final event.

AT&T’s new offering, U-verse, has a DVR which records four programs simultaneously. I am envious as the DVR we have from Comcast only records two at a time. I checked the AT&T web site and our area does not yet have the capability to receive U-verse.

The same thing happened with DSL internet capability. I think AT&T finally added our area to their DSL capable sites just to put a stop to my repeated requests.

We all want U-verse, so I’ll do the same thing and annoy the dickens out of AT&T. This is just the beginning . . .

The only way I can record 2 shows at once is to record one on the family room VCR and the other on the basement VCR. I am so very 20th century!

We are looking forward of U-verse as well. Condos are receiving the cable system first since there is more money created in these areas. We are going to receive a discount with AT&T U-verse once our area is accepted. Meanwhile, we are paying full price with Comcast. Their in-house tech customer service has been terrible over the years. Watch out Comcast, AT&T is coming to a customer near you! M. checks the web-site all the time for "Coming to a neighborhood near you." As for the Mr. and Mrs. Slowske commercials, turtles are cute. It is impossible to read the disclaimers at the bottom which tells customers the comparison from on internet speed to the next is not being compared to the same service. M. hates the idea people are being mislead.

Tonight, Big Brother, the Olympics, and an Agatha Christie mystery on Masterpiece, all begin at 8 o'clock. And we can only DVR two of them.

Oh the choices. Oh the lack of U-verse. Oh, thanks, Bluegrass Mama. I will have to crank up a VCR.

Zeta, I'll bet we will be the last in the city to acquire U-verse. You guys got DSL way before we did.

I'll take that bet and up you two coconuts that WE will be the last neighborhood in the last city in the last state in the last universe to receive U-Verse, DVR or even Cable. We are satellite TV recipients who are dependant on DirecTV and call frequently to see if ATT is ever planning to head out our way. When it rains we have little to no service except the notation on the bottom of the screen that lets us know we're Searching For Signal...(wild maniacle laughter!)
