Answer to the query about the mysterious metal pollinator:
This is the little metal rod in its customary place ... the handle to the steamer basket which unscrews to remove. It gets taken off when I steam broccoli in the presssure cooker. Easier to mix the B&B with the bej-ables (as Zeta used to call 'em when she was really tiny.)

Big Ed will be pleased to hear that his pollinator has more than one use.
You don't know how hard it is to clean that pollenator by hand, and get all the ity bitty stuff off it.
Aside to Big Ed: if you hold the little pollinator in the column of steam coming from the open pipe on the pressure cooker lid, won't it blast those itty-bitty pieces of stuff off of it? I can see you now with the oven mitts on - :)
Plus, Big Ed will have his medical card handy while trying this process. Right!
Big Ed must use the whole steamer to pollinate those poor Hibiscus. No wonder we don't have any flowers, right now.
