Plecostomus anyone? Tetra? Gourami?

We haven't been to a yard sale or a flea market in the longest time. We watched the 2007 HGTV special on the flea market that spans several states along the same highway. It made me nostalgic.

I just refuse to watch any programs on going fishing, or owning an aquarium. Nostalgia has its limits.

Although, way back when we had aquaria, I even enjoyed cleaning the 55 gallon tank ...

A certain Siamese cat fell into the aquarium while was swimming for a short time. The light fixture he was sitting on sank due to his weight.

Mamas used to have an aquarium with a clear plexiglas top on it. Zeta's dad knew the top was always on the tank. One day, he picked up a birthday card sitting on the table in front of the tank - read it and laid it on top of the tank... where the plexiglass was missing. Card sank into the water. People laughed. I still get a smile when I recall those surprised little fishies darting away from the danger!

The Siamese's impromptu swim was my fault. I had sat the light at an angle across the corner of the big tank to clean the front glass. I forgot to straighten it back up.

When the cat jumped up, the light rocked and he slid in. J fished him out by the scruff of his neck as his sharpies were all out and ready to grab anything (or body).

Couldn't happen to a nicer cat.

Torture chamber time for the poor kitty from my little brother. That is why your feet were stepped on when you were with the cat. Yes, I remember stepping on your feet and then pushing you on your bottom. Now you are a friendly kind gentleman who realizes kitties require a soft hand.
