The procedure for obtaining a discounted SunPass was well thought out. Each person in line was issued two numbered tickets from a double roll. The duplicate tickets which remained on the roll were used as a check, at the door, to ensure the accuracy of the person's place in the queue.
Neat, huh? The line was long but moved quickly after the doors opened. It took about 90 seconds to pay, get a receipt and collect the SunPass.
FEMA should only be so efficient!

Thank you Ranger. Zoom, zoom, SunPass lane, here I go. Thank goodness you were able to miss the rain by minutes.
It seems only right and fitting that a system that allows you to pass through a toll gate quickly and without hassle should also have a system for passing through their office in the same way. And, to keep track of whether or not you're where you should be.

When I first saw how long the line was, I was not going to queue up because it seemed possible that the supply of SunPasses might run out.
People already in line talked me out of leaving. Even if the SunPasses ran out, vouchers would be issued for later purchase at the discounted rate. The issuer of the tickets kept calling out: ¿Preguntas? Questions? She was the be all and end all of SunPass knowledge, that day.
The sprinkles started as I made my turn out of the parking lot.
