Ready or not ...
Mew used to play a game when we kept the newspaper recycle bin in the kitchen. She would hide in the bin and seek us around the corner. We eventually moved the bin to the utility area and she now plays hide and seek, all over the house. Peek at her quickly, from around a corner, and then run like the dickens because she will probably go into chase mode and she's faster than anyone we know.
She will also arch her back and fluff her tail in an invitation to play. If you "fluff" back (stick out your elbows and rise up on tiptoe) she will run like the dickens, herself. She can play this game a great deal longer than any one of us has the patience or stamina to endure.
She used to wear a collar. However, she took them off and hid them so often that we gave up on the idea.

She is too cute! My cats just concentrate on holding the couch down.
She's more of a chair potato. The game is played when SHE is ready, not us, most times.
Don't tell me animals aren't smart. She recognizes it when YOU fluff and takes off running. Cuga recognizes the finger wave in the morning when I'm leaving for work. She'll tell me bye-bye. Or, sometimes she shortens it to Bye. And often she'll raise both wings off her sides and flutter them in a brief wave of her own.
We know Cuga is soooo smart. I still remember saying your daughter's name when you did not hear the doorbell and Cuga making such a commotion you came to see what was wrong. I wanted in. Cuga knew.
I still recall a plastic heart on a keychain that Cuga put a beak-shaped notch in. I wonder what she ever did with the piece that came off the edge.....
Her information card on the rolodex also has a beak notch on the edge. Man, in the early days she'd take a chunk out of whatever you offered.
