Is it odd that I think the baby is cute?
Not odd, it is cute in a drowned rat kind of way. Later, I saw him behind the bushes warming his little head in a patch of sunlight that had penetrated that far. Now that really was cute.
I hope he survives. He was in his mother's care, so we didn't interfere.
Does Mew know about this? Momma possum needs to teach baby possum that stalking strangers is a bad idea. Cute yes.
Better seen warming his little (cute) baby head in a patch of sunlight than alongside the highway where they often look like they're taking a little nap. But you KNOW they're not!
You proclaimed loudly, eh? So did Mama Possum? Haven't we seen cartoons like that - where the twain meet unexpectedly and both shriek. And then they become friends. It could happen....
