Town and Country ...

For you out of towners who may remember Town and Country Mall on 88th Street, it is currently a ghost mall. The part of the mall on the same side as the lake is totally vacant. The Sears is closed. That was our closest Sears and, though small, was convenient for getting refills for the weed eater and vacuum cleaner.

Our newspaper ran an article about the future of the ghost mall and mentioned out-parcels and a new Wal-Mart in the same story. All remains speculative as no money has been visibly spent on the lakeside property.

Just before the Sears finally closed, I found a brand new FoodSaver vacuum sealer for almost half off the usual price. Best of all, the FoodSaver box had an auxiliary use. Scroll down ....

I used to love that mall! In high school, my friends and I would go to the movies there. I still rememeber the GIANT carousel in that mall.
Urban decay is a terrible thing.

I wonder if another Star Bucks will open in the new mall. This would make number seven for the area of my home. Awesome. The giant carousel was still there when I went to the mall several months ago before demolition. Yes, we will long for Sears since it was so close, and great for last minute gifts. As we walked across the bridge, white lights would shine across the water in the evenings which was a great view.

I, too, fondly recall T&C Mall. How pretty it was with all the lights and the water. Is it just that nobody goes there any more - have other shopping centers got better advertising campaigns than they did? It does seem a shame -

I believe T&C was a victim of poor planning.

The Falls also has lakes, surrounded by artistic foliage and water flowing over the rocks. There is a wide overhang with shaded table seating, near the water, to allow one to relax and luxuriate with a cuppa.

We'll see how they do at T&C. New management has, at least garnered, some publicity. We're talking about it ...

Zeta, we will have to talk where those seven coffee shops are. I only know of one in my neighborhood.
